Michael came to chill with us while his parents went to 115F in Arizona. :o)
So we invited Emily and Rebecca to come and eat breakfast with us and then do a service project. We enjoyed sitting out on the deck and eating there for the first time this year. It was Michael's idea. YEAH!! Michael.

Michael had asked if we could tie a "blankie", well, it developed into....all three kids choosing the fleece they liked, carrying the bolt to the clerk and asking for two yards. I explained that after we were finished we would take the "blankies" to the Humanitarian Center. No problem.

They trimmed the edges, placed the pattern and did their own cutting.... and their own knot tying.

It didn't take too long till the "blankies" were finished.
Then Mutiny. I like my "blankie" do I have to take it?
Maybe they won't want it ....
Explanations from Granma, to give a good gift you really have to give something you want for yourself....
So, we cuddled awhile, Granma's favorite thing.
Kids + "blankies" One happy Granma :o)

Yes!!!! they wanted the "blankies" They made the kids feel good, that their contribution was needed, and asked them to sign the register and list their gift.
Yes, they felt good... but still a little wistfulness for their "blankie"

A successful day, I think we will try it again. :o)
